🍪There’s No Place Like the Science Lab!

Our 6th grade scientists followed the Yellow Brick Road to the Moon! 🌙 🌚 🌔

Using cookies as their models, students recreated the phases of the Moon—from New Moon to Full Moon and everything in between! 🍪 🌚

Along the way, students discovered that the Moon doesn’t make its own light. Instead, it reflects sunlight, and the phases we see from Earth depend on how much of the Moon’s illuminated side is visible to us. ☀️ 🌔 🌕 🌖

A little science, a little creativity, and a whole lot of Oz-style magic make learning out of this world! 🚀

There’s No Place Like the Science Lab! 🧪

A few of our Exceptional Engineers put their STEM skills to work as they designed and created their very own sow bug habitats for our new sow bugs !🐛 🏡

Following the Yellow Brick Road of engineering, our students carefully considered the food, moisture, shelter, and environmental conditions sow bugs need to survive. 💧🍂🌿

Now the real adventure begins! 👀🔎 Our young scientists will observe sow bug behaviors, habitat preferences, and interactions with their environment as they uncover the science happening right before their eyes!

🧪 There’s No Place Like the Science Lab!

Our 7th grade scientists followed the Yellow Brick Road into the world of cellular respiration! 👣

🔬 During their fermentation lab, students used yeast and sugar to investigate what happens when oxygen is limited. 🔎

Just like the magic of Oz, there was plenty happening beneath the surface! 🪄 Yeast broke down sugar for energy, producing carbon dioxide and ethanol along the way. 💨🧪

From bubbling bottles to curious minds, students connected our cellular respiration lessons to a real biological process—and yes, things got a little messy along the way! 😄

📣 Calling All Middle School Students! 📣

We are looking for girls and boys in grades 6–8 who are interested in becoming a part of the Conecuh Middle School Cheer Team! 📣

Interested students can pick up an application in the front office. Applications must be completed and turned in by Friday, September 4.

Even if you have not had time to schedule your child’s physical yet, please have them turn in an application. This will help us get an accurate headcount of students who are interested in participating.

Once applications have been turned in, additional information will be shared with parents regarding the upcoming parent meeting.
