I am Brittany, a mindset and money coach! I am super passionate and love to teach and learn about all things money related!!
But first, welcome to my space. Seeking help with money often strikes several emotions for people. It is one of those things that falls in the don’t talk about categories usually. And I am on a mission to change that. This is a safe space for us to talk about money, so celebrate yourself for taking the first step in seeking out a different money story for you future!
A little bit about my story.
My husband and myself have been married for 11 years. After college, he started immediately working in the construction industry and what he happens to be amazing at! I went to work where I could find a decent paying job and then we started a family. Together we are raising our two boys and a double doodle dog.
Early on in our relationship and in parenting, we were just living the daily grind. Ya know what I am talking about? Waking up, getting kids to daycare, going to work till who knows when, coming home, eating, maybe squeezing in a couple activities and then putting the kids to bed. All while living paycheck to paycheck.
Then waking up and doing it all over again.
It wasn't until life circumstances started to happen (a child with medical needs) that our finances were the last thing on our list to manage. We never had a budget, we never knew where our money was going at the end of each year, and we surely didn't have anything in a savings. Most of the time we had a few dollars remaining or just praying we didn't go in the negative in our bank account.
Years passed and we continued to live pay check to pay check, accepting this as the "norm".
Living paycheck to paycheck doesn't just happen when people have a low income. It happens to people of all income levels. We were making a decent money but were just unsure of how to manage what was coming in and what was going out.
To give you a quick psychology tip, humans start to develop beliefs around age 7. We develop them from how we are raised, society, and experiences. And my husband and I both had different money beliefs and they were not serving either of us and our family together. But we did not even know that at the time. We thought something was wrong with "us".
So with that, eventually we found ourselves super broke, almost divorced, negative account too many times to count and our house in foreclosure.
So I truly know the overwhelm, stress, and tension that comes from not feeling like money is out of your control.
Bankruptcy. Foreclosure. Debt that has you buried. These circumstances do not define your future story and you can learn to gain control over your finances by doing the deep inner work and having fun along the way! Yep that's right you totally can have FUN transforming your money.
How we started:
We literally just started to do THE WORK. I hired a life coach. I challenged my thinking every single hour of every single day. And still do. We started with the deep inner work to transform a new line of thinking. I hired a coach that taught me mindset and I just applied to the money area of my life.
Once we started to gain some traction here are some of the amazing transformations that took place:
We paid off 30k in 5 months
We quit arguing over money
We focused on creating income instead of focusing on what we didn't have
We paid cash for A LOT. Home remodels & repairs, vacations, medical expenses.
We gained confidence in ourselves this was the journey we were meant for.
We understood that money is neutral. It is not good nor bad. It should flow in and flow out.
We were able to GIVE and not feel bad not being able to afford it.
We have more time as a family, actually enjoying each other without the money stress.
We are more and more grateful each day.
We achieved a HUGE dream of going on a mission trip to Kenya.
We set goals TOGETHER as husband and wife.
We discuss finances with confidence and excitement.
We focus more on who we are serving
And we created two very thriving businesses that we LOVE waking up to every single day
These are just to name a few things. We not only transformed our finances, but our health, our relationships, and our marriage was transformed. And our children saw what it was like to fight really hard to change our story, to fight hard for what you truly desire in life!
Through my transformation I serve others in this area of their life. It quickly became my mission to help as many women as possible with money!
