The vision of MBA is to equip its members with a well rounded base of experiences to be successful in their profession. Our end goal is for all members to either pursue post graduate education or to graduate with a full time job. We aim to create minority leaders who are pioneers in their respective industries with a commitment to giving back to their communities through education, experience and opportunity.

MBA Spotlight #6: Meet our Director of Finance, Linda Cai!

Linda is a sophomore majoring in Economics and Philosophy. She is passionate about finance and investing. From her previous internship with Green Mountain asset management firm she, as a stock analyst, has strengthened her understanding of the financial industry and gained hands-on experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis. For this summer, she will be working at a boutique investment bank in Chicago.

MBA Spotlight #5: Meet our Director of Public Relations, Deidre Johnson!

Deidre is MBA’s Director of Public Relations. She is a sophomore in Weinberg studying Economics, Spanish and Business Institutions. Deidre is extremely interested in learning about the intersection of business operations and philanthropy, especially in the social sector. She will therefore be serving as a Fundraising and Research Intern at a non-profit this summer before recruiting for consulting internships in the fall. In addition to MBA, Deidre is also involved with Women in Business’s consulting functional group and the BRIDGE Program’s Leadership Council. When she is not focused on her school work or professional development, Deidre loves to listen to R&B music from the early 2000s and relax with friends.

MBA Spotlight #4: Meet our Director of Programming, Nathan Antwan!

Nathan is MBA's Director of Programming. He is a freshman in McCormick studying Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Economics. He is involved in the Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Outing Club. When Nathan isn't doing math problems or attending meetings, he enjoys playing tennis, listening to music, and graphic designing.

MBA Spotlight #3: Meet our Vice-President, Griffin Bourjaily!

Griffin is a junior in Weinberg studying economics and minoring in Business and Political Science. Griffin joined MBA in his freshman year spring and has enjoyed the professional development that has stemmed from it. He is currently interning at CDI Global, a mergers and acquisitions consulting firm in Chicago, with his primary role being a research analyst. Griffin also returned recently from studying abroad at University College London, with a concentration in international economics. Griffin is an Evans Scholar, and he enjoys international traveling, watching movies with friends, and hiking anywhere with a mountain.

Patricia is a junior studying economics and international studies. She was raised in Seoul, South Korea. Joining MBA in her sophomore fall, she has been taken roles such as Programming Associate and Vice President. She is passionate about MBA as it strives to promote diversity and inclusion in business industries. Outside the classroom, she loves traveling and new adventures. Some of her career interests include international development, nonprofits and consulting.

MBA Spotlight #1: Meet our President, Luis Ortega!

Luis is a junior in Weinberg studying economics and minoring in the Business Institutions program. He is currently doing an internship at Chicago Anchors for a Strong Economy, an organization under the umbrella of World Business Chicago. Luis is also an Evan Scholar, along with Griffin. In his free time, he likes to hang out with friends, play intramural soccer and go to new restaurants with his girlfriend.
