Hey West Coast Piven People!

Saturday, June 20 @ 3:00pm

In `Singularities and Safety Pins`, a woman uses humor and science to help her navigate a look back at her mother`s battle with cancer. It was featured at the StarStuff Festival for solo performances in Seattle in October 2025, and after two beautifully received runs at Piven, you won't want to miss this thought-provoking work, written and performed by Carmella Riley and directed by Piven Artistic Director Jennifer Green. We hope you can make it!

Congrats to Young People’s Company Alum, Sally Kozminski, on her new job as a PA at the DWW+ Program at AFI! While there, she met Young People’s Company Alum, Arabella Anderson who is in the DWW+ cohort. Arabella has served as a writer and producer on shows such as Transparent, and Riverdale.

Sally and Arabella realized they were Pivenites within 48 hours of meeting each other. We love an LA Piven connection!Sending you both all the best vibes and keep us posted on what the two of you are up to!

The DWW+ Program at AFI is an intensive that helps underrepresented directors improve their directing skills and make short films.

Thank you The Woman's Club of Evanston for your generous support of the programs at Piven Theatre Workshop.

The dedication and work that went into the annual r***e brought the house down in March and we're thrilled that the community came out to support the WCE and Piven.
Piven Artistic Director, Jen Green, Piven Board President Glo Rolighed - Residential Lifestyle Broker and Vice-President, Lucia Guridi (pictured below), enjoyed a morning get-together at the WCE today - a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this year's R***e benefitting Piven, and to meet last year's recipients and recipients for the upcoming year.

A huge shout out to Glo and Lucia, and board members Alyssa Altman, Nekohl Johnson, and Andrew Keith for their participation and support of the event. Thank you to our grant writer, Juliet Bond, for her hard work and for sharing her beautiful voice on the WCE stage. And thank you to the Piven students who gave their time and talent performing in the show (Kitty, Amanda, Duncan, and Audre), and to all of those who came to see it.
