Chicagoland singers - we're extending our deadline to become Art Song Chicago's next Vocal Chamber Music Fellow!
Got an idea for a recital project you'd like to take from dream to reality? Submit it to us by May 31st.
We'll offer our VCMF the tools to tackle the entire process of creating a recital - from dreaming up the concept and curating the program, to promoting it and giving it life on stage.
Work closely with our Director of Education, Brent Funderburk, and have access to the ASC network to make your mark on the Chicago scene.

The Chinese-born soprano, described as “impressive” by The New York Times following her portrayal of Pamina in The Magic Flute at the Glimmerglass Festival, has been seen on operatic, concert and recital stages around the country.
Highlights include performances with Knoxville Opera, Opera Grand Rapids, Hawaii Opera Theater, Nashville Opera and Kentucky Opera - to name a few.

These dynamic artists are joined by mezzo-soprano Alice Chung (who was a fellow at Ravinia’s Steans institute this summer), making her Art Song Chicago debut on Girls of Yellow Diamonds, Friday, May 1!

Soprano Helen Zhibing Huang and mezzo-soprano Alice Chung's thoughtful Girls of Yellow Diamonds highlights a vast array of Asian Women in song - including artists like René Orth!
René recently completed a three-year tenure as Composer-in-Residence at Opera Philadelphia and previously served as the inaugural Resident Composer at Opera San José.
Her music has been performed by a wide range of opera companies and orchestras, including Washington National Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Curtis Opera Theatre, Berkeley Symphony, and New World Symphony - to name a few.

As we look ahead to our Spring Lieder Lounge, we're looking forward to sharing work by acclaimed composer Melissa Dunphy!
Audiences around Chicago might be most familiar with Melissa's choral writing - with many of local choirs having shared her impactful music over the years. In addition to works written for Chanticleer and Cantus (to name a few) the composer has a breadth of gorgeous songs in her repertoire, including music you'll hear on Girls of Yellow Diamonds.
