🧠Understanding GHSA Wrestling Out-of-Season Rules🧠

🗣There has been a lot of discussion about GHSA out-of-season rules. Here's a simple breakdown for wrestling.🗣

📖GHSA defines the wrestling out-of-season period as:📖
📅August 1 through October 19 and February 13 through the last day of school 📅

These are the periods when GHSA's out-of-season coaching and instruction rules apply.

🚨Summer is different.🚨

☀️From the day after the last day of school until July 31, wrestling is considered the summer period. During this time, the GHSA out-of-season restrictions on instruction (such as the former 4-and-1 rule and its current replacement) DO NOT APPLY. Coaches and athletes have greater flexibility to train and develop during the summer.☀️

❗️One important exception:❗️
🚫 GHSA Dead Weeks still apply. During Dead Weeks, there are no school-sponsored athletic activities, including practices, workouts, camps, or instruction involving school coaches and student-athletes.🚫

🤓Understanding these dates helps coaches, athletes, and parents stay compliant while maximizing opportunities for development throughout the year.🤓
