I have taught classes at Alternative Schools with great success among the students. I have taken a few lessons over the years from various well-known percussionists, but I have learned the most by making my own album, where I played every instrument, as well as sang, overdubbing the tracks, back around the year 2000. I like to put my music in "shuffle" and play with every musical style I listen to

My fiance and I are having a Commitment Ceremony on Monday, July 7th and therefore I won't be giving classes between the 7th until Monday, July 14th. We are very excited about sharing our vows in a small, casual setting with just a few loving witnesses! :-) Even though I won't be teaching during that week, I will still be open to schedule lessons for the next week or later. I am moving to the Ashland/Medford area of Oregon today (2/23/15) and will be available to give lessons on hand-drumming locally very soon! Here is a simple, short freeflow demonstration of my djembe drumming that my fiance shot with her camera on Friday. (I also made the drum that I am playing in this video). Anyhow, if you check it out, you can see a few of the techniques I can teach. Turn up the volume on this one, although sound quality is poor because it was recorded without a mic and just with my fiance's little camera... We will post more videos, including me playing the congas, demonstrating polyrhythms, etc. in the future...
