Modeling is powerful.

But modeling without explanation leaves parents guessing.

When therapists talk through their choices and invite parents to try in real time, learning clicks.

Parents don’t just watch.
They understand.
And that understanding builds confidence at home.

Parent engagement doesn’t start with policies.

It starts with moments.
A quick check in.
A shared “why.”
A simple action step parents can actually do.

These small shifts reduce burnout, increase follow through, and build the kind of partnership that lasts far beyond the session.

If you want strategies that work in real life not just on paper, you’ll find them inside my book "Meet Me Halfway"

Why do I still pay for mentorship?

Because I have a lot of thoughts in my head, and half of them I second-guess into the ground.

I need someone who'll flush the idea out with me. And call me on my BS when I'm underselling myself.

Case in point: I built a course. I priced it embarrassingly low.

My mentor flipped it on me ""You're saving these companies a fortune. Why are you charging like you're not?""

That's the work. Not the tactics. Not the templates. The person across from you who won't let you shrink.

If you're the smartest person in your room, your room is too small.

Most therapists think clinical skill is what keeps patients coming back.

It's not.

I went back for my doctorate to figure out why parents kept canceling on my pediatric practice. I was convinced I needed sharper skills. Better techniques. More credentials.

Parents didn't care about any of that.

They wanted someone who could relate. Collaborate. Show empathy.

The soft skills nobody taught us in school.

Stop explaining the stretch. Ask why they're worried.

Stop handing out an HEP nobody does. Ask what their day looks like and fit the work in.

Clinical skill gets you in the door. Soft skill fills your schedule.

When a parent pulls away, therapists often assume it’s disinterest.

But more often, it’s something far more human:

They feel lost.
They feel invisible.
They feel like therapy is happening around them, not with them.

Meet Me Halfway gives therapists the tools, language, and mindset to bring parents back into the work without pressure, guilt, or overwhelm.

Engagement becomes possible when parents finally see where they fit.

If your therapists are avoiding hard conversations, rushing parent education at the end, and still seeing cancellations…

That’s not a people problem. It’s a connection and system problem.
