In July we learned about Dinosaurs. ๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿฆ•

Some of their favorites were marching Dinosaurs around in paint to the โ€œWe are the Dinosaurโ€ song by the Laurie Berkner band, dinosaur water wow book where they paint with water and colors appear, LOTS of dinosaur puzzles (how did I accumulate so many lol), a dinosaur search and find book, and building our own Dinos.

In June we learned all about the Ocean and Ocean Creatures! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿฆˆ

Some of the childrenโ€™s favorites were kinetic sand and connecting it to a book called, โ€œKellanโ€™s search for shells,โ€ ocean water wow pages where children paint with water and it reveals colors, a sea creature light board with loose parts, and blowing paint through a straw to create jellyfish! ๐Ÿชผ

In May we had another one of my personal favorites, a bug and insect unit! ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ›๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ

This year we tried something new, we observed ants tunneling in their ant farm. The children loved watching them eat sunflower seeds and shredded veggies. Some other favorites included our bumblebee sensory play and butterfly dress-up. ๐Ÿฆ‹

In April we focused on birds and bunnies for the Springtime season. ๐Ÿ’ Some of the childrenโ€™s favorites were flower soup sensory play, dancing to Sleeping Bunnies, decorating Spring Bunny cookies, and lots and lots of dress up! ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿฃ

In March we had a gardening unit. We explored a flower sensory bin based upon our circle time book, โ€œWhat does Bunny See.โ€ We also had lots of fun flower process art, and play dough with dried flowers. ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒท

My favorite activity I like to do with the children each year is to conduct our Greenhouse Bean Sprout experiment. Itโ€™s always so fun to see how excited the kiddos are when the beans start to grow roots! ๐ŸŒฑโ˜€๏ธ

In February we learned all about outer space and astronauts. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš€๐Ÿš€๐Ÿช

Some of their favorite activities were building with the moon phase blocks, exploring a planet sensory table, dressing up like an astronaut, and pretending to blast off into space in our cardboard rocket ship. ๐ŸŒ™

Some of our favorite activities were Northern Lights Process Art, painting ice, building igloos with magnatiles, and measuring pieces against an Emperor Penguin.

In December we take time to intentionally slow down during the holiday busyness. The children loved painting ice, decorating with our Santa window clings, and exploring our Hot Cocoa Sensory bin. Happy holidays! โœจ

In November we learned about Farm animals and explored crops. Some of the childrenโ€™s favorite activities were: exploring the sensory table and hiding the farm animals; dramatic play with farm animals and the barn; singing old MacDonald with finger puppets; and exploring gourds with painting and washing. ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿฅ•

In October we had a fun, Fall filled unit! The children especially loved using our apple peeler and filling their mini apple pies with filling. We also enjoyed a pumpkin pie sensory bin and and watching things continue to grow in our garden! ๐Ÿ

This yearโ€™s class photo was a little trickier than usual with our professional photographer (aka my husband Will lol) being in the office today. Today we had a fun filled day decorating pumpkin cookies and watching Shaun the Sheep in our Jammies. ๐Ÿ

In September we had an โ€œAll About Meโ€ unit. Children especially loved our fingerprint stamp pad activity where we inspected our fingerprints up close and compared it to their friends. Some other favorites were measuring how tall we all were, decorating our names, looking at family photos & drawing our families, and coloring a self portrait.
