A winner at home! Congrats to Chloe!

Congrats to National Student of the Month, Chloe Burden from Warrior Run Jr Sr High School! 👏

Her nominator said: "Chloe eats, sleeps, and breathes positive climate and culture in our district. As a group, we take on a lot of things and no matter what is asked of her and what the timeline is, Chloe will do anything and everything she can to make sure that things run smoothly and people feel appreciated in each moment. Chloe runs our school's pep rallies and she works tirelessly to make sure they are great for all students in the building. Deadlines approach, people back out, but Chloe steps up and does so with the most positive energy. She masks the hardships that come with being someone who works really hard who isn't always seen by others but never lets that stop her from being the best version of herself to everyone she sees. Chloe is authentically Chloe, regardless of her audience, the event in question, or the day of the week. We love her for the person she is, the way she is towards others, and the grace she brings to our group in order to make our school and community a better place."

Who are the last-minute shoppers in your school? Do they love the thrill of the hunt, or did they just run out of time this year? I'm a year-round shopper myself. There's no way I want to be on the roads scanning shelves on Christmas eve!

Here's a fun assignment to run over the break - a photo challenge. In one of my fall newsletters I referenced the 30 days challenge, but you can certainly alter it to 10 days or whatever appropriate to line up with your winter break. Wouldn't it be cool to see different family traditions and activities when school is not in session? Sign me up!

I didn't always love living on the top of a mountain in upstate New York; no friends within walking distance, a little scary when home alone, and goodness - all of the technology of the time was slow, especially in the country. But now when I visit, I realize how lucky I was. I miss home often. And I'm so thankful to still have a bed to sleep in, family to play cards with, and friends to laugh with when we make the trek back.

When conducting interviews for a mod or sidebar, don't forget to look for different points of view. It makes for a more interesting read AND shows that everyone believes/feels/sees things differently!
