I'm doing a little writing project on a place called Royal Road. It is an amateur site. They encourage posting a chapter at a time, and readers can make comments. You probably have to sign up to leave a comment, but if you just click on this, it might give a bump to my algorithm.
When I wrote the (MG level) book WECU, I had the kids write a fantasy story within a story. This is basically taking those fantasy characters and writing more with them.
