We did it! Thank you, Emerson, for believing in me and electing me onto the Board of Education. I am overwhelmed by all of the support shown to me over the past few months. To my family: thank you for your patience and sacrifice of not having me around on weekends while I was campaigning. To the other candidates: congratulations on a job well done! I am so excited to start this new role in January! For those of you who have my lawn signs: please do not throw away! I will come and collect them all this weekend 🪧 Go Cavos ❤️🖤

Election Day is here! Many of you have asked me what my plans are for this Election Day, and it's going to work with my students and coming home to my own children ❤️ My kids are very excited to come voting with me later and see their mom's name on the ballot 🗳️ I would like to extend my sincere thanks to every single one of you who have supported me during this campaign. It has been a honor and a privilege getting to know many of you in town and I truly have enjoyed all the meaningful conversations I've had during this process. Whatever tonight's election results may show, I will never stop supporting our students and teachers in this town and am so thankful to be a Cavo ❤️🖤

As a Board of Education candidate, I feel that you as voters have the right to know my feelings on yesterday's email sent out by our superintendent regarding disturbing bias incidents. Dr. Nisonoff stated in the 10/29 email that this month alone, there have been 8 incidents involving students being accused of "writing racist, homophobic, antisemitic slurs & symbols, and inappropriate sexual images on our Memorial School blacktop." I completely agree with him that while one incident is one too many, this pattern of unacceptable behavior is an alarming trend that our community should take seriously. As a mother of three, one of my biggest goals in life is to raise individuals who are kind and inclusive of others. For inclusion to have an impact, it must be practiced. That practice starts at home through the conversations we are having with our children and the "actions speak louder than words" mentality. As parents, it is our responsibility to model kind and accepting behavior for our children to see and practice. Sometimes that includes having those hard conversations with our kids and allowing them a safe space to process through what they would do in similar situations should they arise. Let's work together as a community to show our children that the Family Town is one of acceptance and kindness, where every child feels like they can belong and thrive. Go Cavos ❤️🖤

I've been asked what's my "why" for running for the BOE. These 3 third-generation Cavos are my biggest reason why. Like any parent, I would move heaven and earth to ensure that my children receive the highest quality education possible that meets their individual needs. Since my oldest has been in Pre-K, we have had such an amazing experience in the Emerson school system and I am so excited to see what my kids go on to accomplish in their lives with this educational foundation and the nurturing that the Emerson teachers have shown them. I truly want to be a part of the planning and implementation process of the educational experience for all the students in Emerson and offer my expertise in this field where it may be put to good use ❤️🖤
