Before we rest & reset for our Fall Break, we want to shout out the NC Teaching Fellows directors. The fall regional directors meeting was held at Elon. The team handled new & old business, welcomed the new state director, toured the campus & Roberts Academy at Elon University , had a Joyful Living HEU session, and got creative in the Maker Hub. The state has some great leadership in the NCTF program.

Congratulations to Elon Teaching Fellow, Jackson Laing ‘27, on publishing his undergraduate inquiry project with the Centre for Belonging in Education!

Jackson’s research focuses on a crucial milestone: how high school teachers can intentionally foster a sense of belonging for 9th-grade students as they navigate the transition into high school.

By sharing his work with a UK-based international organization dedicated to supporting belonging across all learning environments, Jackson is helping shape teaching practices on a global scale. 🌍

Congratulations, Jackson! 👏

Welcome back, Teaching Fellows! 🍎📚✨

We kicked off the new academic year with our Welcome Back Event! 🎉 We have been so excited welcoming in the Class of 2030, and of course welcoming back our juniors returning from their spring abroad experiences in Italy and New Zealand! So exciting to reunite all of our Fellows!

We had food, Human Bingo, some Teaching Fellows Handbook trivia, and of course we recognized all of the amazing accomplishments our Fellows have achieved! We put our teacher skills to the test with a game of classroom charades before ending the night with our iconic group and cohort pictures! 📸

We’re so excited for everything this year has in store and can’t wait to continue growing and making so many more memories together! Here’s to another great year of Elon Teaching Fellows! ❤️💛
