Utilitrain is at JFK High School today, attending the Career day for students! As a country, we’re hitting a crisis of not enough young people understanding how much money they could make by taking on a role in the trades. We need plumbers, we need welders - and this country needs electric utility workers!

Thank you JFKHS for hosting this event, and for the opportunity to visit with your students!

Week 7 is underway - and students are learning how to hang conductor in their climbing gear, and we're glad the weather hasn't turned on us yet - tomorrow is supposed to hit 90 degrees. Even with the breeze at the top of the pole, our students are working themselves hard - learning the trade in our 15-week Electrical Lineworker Program.

Do you want to learn more about how you could do 15-weeks of training, and be making around $100k by next year?

Sometimes there's a picture that really doesn't need a caption, and when it's got a Utilitrain student - an American Flag, and a sky so blue that you couldn't ask for better weather in October... sometimes you just have to let the picture speak for itself.

One of our students climbed up on the assist to help out another student with a dropped hand-line, and we were able to capture a pretty good picture on this fall day. The sun is hitting lower on the horizon with each passing day, and soon - we'll have to start wearing FR sweaters and chugging pumpkin spice lattes for hydration. We've got some cold weather coming up - bundle up, and get prepared for some colder weather!

We heard this school was the best in the area and after touring twice, we were incredibly impressed. The informative experience and focus on what our sons would learn were key. The placement numbers, with high career success rates for graduates, was a huge bonus.

Our twin sons are having an amazing experience at the Utilitrain Electrical Lineman Program. They rave about the instructors, who are incredibly helpful, and the supportive group of guys they've met. It's been a fantastic journey for them from start to finish.

That’s a wrap on the CDL Hiring Event! Turn out was respectable - thank you to everyone who turned up!

Thank you to Gordon Food Service, Swift Transportation, and UCS for attending the CDL Hiring Event - hosted by Utilitrain!

Our goal with this event, was to get companies directly connected to those in the public who are looking for employment with their CDL. The overall mission of our school is to get people trained for well paying jobs, and there are still so many companies hiring for jobs in transportation and logistics in this area.

Stay tuned for information about future hiring events, we’ll have more information posted in the weeks ahead!

Next event at Utilitrain is our Try Out Day, on October 24th (two weeks from today)! Want to know more about our lineworker training program? Want to climb a wood pole and see what it’s like at our school? Pay attention to our social media pages for more info!
