Elk Coast Institute The mission of ECI is to create a network of innovators and industries that will sustain and enable the long-term future of humanity and the planet.

The mission of the Elk Coast Institute is to create a worldwide network of innovators developing transformative science, technology, and economic systems that will sustain and enable the long-term future of humanity and the planet. The network of innovators will be assembled and cultivated in a series of incubator workshops led by mentors, and held in the inspiring natural environment of the Elk c

oast. We envision that this network will lead the way to a future for humanity – the Anthropocene era – in which mindful innovation and technology permit us to leave behind the struggles over limited resources that have often defined the human condition. Instead, humankind will focus on expanding the reach of what we can create, and on developing robust systems that support the long term viability of life on earth. In this vision, humanity designs its future, so that our society and ecosystems evolve harmoniously and more rapidly and productively than biological evolution has made possible.
