🍩☕💙 Teacher Appreciation Week Breakfast 💙☕🍩

The Sheep Harney Elementary PTO was so excited to help kick off Teacher Appreciation Week with a special breakfast for our amazing teachers and staff on Monday! 🍎✨

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the morning so special:

🍩 Southern Maid Donuts generously helped provide delicious donuts for our staff.
☕ A special thank you to the Starbucks on W Ehringhaus Street in Elizabeth City for generously donating a variety of coffee beans to help keep our teachers caffeinated and appreciated throughout the morning!
🥣 The Sheep Harney Elementary PTO was proud to help provide additional breakfast items, including yogurt and other breakfast supplies, to help create a fun and welcoming start to Teacher Appreciation Week.

We are so grateful for the support from our community and for the opportunity to celebrate the incredible teachers and staff who work so hard for our students every single day. Thank you for helping us show our educators just how appreciated they truly are! 💕

🌎🌿 Sheep Harney Elementary Earth Day Beautification Project 🌿🌎
A couple weeks ago, our students had the opportunity to participate in a special Earth Day beautification project to help refresh and brighten the front entrance of our school! 🌸✨

The Sheep Harney Elementary PTO was proud to help fund and support this project throughout the day as students worked hard planting flowers, spreading mulch, and helping create a more welcoming and beautiful space for our school community. Watching the students take pride in caring for their school environment made the day incredibly meaningful! 🌱💚

Join us for our Spring Book Fair happening March 2nd – March 6th in the Library!
🕗 Book Fair Hours:
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
🌟 Special Family Night:
Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Parents, friends, and family are invited to shop together!
Our Book Fair is a great opportunity for students to discover new books, explore favorite characters, and grow their love of reading. Every purchase helps support our school and classroom libraries.
📚 Build Our Classroom Libraries!
Families are welcome to purchase grade-appropriate books to donate to their child’s teacher’s classroom library.

We’re trying something new this year to make Candy Grams easier for everyone!

This year, instead of using little cutout squares, families can simply write the following on any regular piece of paper:

✏️ Please make sure handwriting is clear and legible!
PTO will be rewriting each Candy Gram onto a new tag before delivery, so this helps us make sure every student gets theirs correctly.

💲 Candy Grams are $1 each
📅 Money will be collected until December 17th — this is the FINAL day to turn in orders.
🎁 Candy Grams will be passed out to students on December 18th!

Sheep-Harney Elementary School PTO Presents
THE GIVING TREE!

A NEW Holiday Tradition of Gratitude & Cheer
Our Christmas Giving Tree will be displayed in the front lobby beginning this week! Each tag on the tree represents a wish from one of our amazing teachers and staff members. We invite our families to join us in spreading joy and appreciation this holiday season!

🎄 How It Works
• Stop by the front lobby and choose one or more gift tags—there is no limit to how many you select!
• Purchase the item(s) listed on the tag.
(Gifts can be any size or price—there is absolutely no pressure.)
• Wrap or gift-bag your item(s).
• Attach a clearly written To/From label.
Please make sure handwriting is legible so we deliver gifts correctly.

🎁 Gift Deadline
All gifts must be returned to the school no later than
December 16th, 2025
Teachers will receive their gifts just before they leave for Holiday Break!

Gift Drop-Off Location:
Please return all wrapped/bagged gifts and place them under the Giving Tree in the main OFFICE (location change due to after school activities)

💡 Gift Ideas
Here are some examples of items our teachers might ask for:
• Cozy shirts, blankets, winter accessories
• Snacks, chocolates, coffees, teas
• Kitchen items and home goodies
• Spa/self-care products (lotions, candles, bath items)
• Classroom supplies, décor, and practical tools

Gift receipts are welcome but not required.
(Place inside the gift if included.)

🌟 Why Participate?
Our teachers work tirelessly every single day. This is a fun and heartfelt way to say thank you and let them know how much they are valued. Let’s fill our school with kindness, excitement, and holiday spirit!

Students are welcome to choose a tag from the Giving Tree to bring home only with a guardian’s permission.
Parents, please talk with your child and let them know if your family would like to participate this year. This helps us make sure every gift tag that’s removed from the tree is truly spoken for—so no teacher or staff member misses out on their holiday surprise!

If a student brings home a tag unexpectedly and your family cannot participate, please return the tag to the tree as soon as possible. This ensures another family has the opportunity to fulfill that wish.
