βResistance bands can be a very useful tool for teaching distance control in boxing when used correctly.
How Resistance Bands Help Distance Control

Develop awareness of range
* The tension in the band gives immediate feedback when a boxer moves too far or too close.
* Helps fighters understand their jab range and punching distance.

Improve footwork
* Teaches athletes to move while maintaining balance and stance.
* Encourages proper push-offs and controlled movement in and out of range.

Train entry and exit
* Fighters learn to step in to score and step out safely.
* Reinforces the βhit and donβt get hitβ concept.

Build coordination
* Combines footwork, defense, and punching mechanics.

Resistance bands should be used as a training aid, not as a replacement for live partner drills, sparring, or bag work. Distance control is ultimately learned by seeing and reacting to a real opponent.
