🍎 From Future Educators to Hired Professionals! 💜
Our Education and Training students are putting their skills into action, and four of our Practicum students have already taken an exciting step into the workforce by becoming paid Elgin ISD employees! 🎉
Since beginning their field site experiences on September 16, students have been gaining hands-on classroom experience and learning what it takes to become an educator. Through these opportunities, they are learning to:
🍎 Work one-on-one with students
📖 Experience the day-to-day responsibilities of a teacher
✏️ Plan and teach lessons to an entire class
💜 Build practical skills and gain real-world classroom experience
We are especially proud to celebrate Regan McFarlin, Kaylee Quintanilla, Liliann Salinas, and Josephina Rodriguez, who have been formally hired as Elgin ISD ACE Youth Care Workers at Harvest Ridge Elementary and Neidig Elementary School! Through their employment in Elgin ISD's ACE afterschool programs, these students are gaining valuable professional experience while making a difference in the lives of younger students. These students completed the full hiring process, from submitting applications and participating in interviews to completing background checks, accepting employment offers, and onboarding with the EISD Human Resources team.
These opportunities demonstrate the impact of our Education and Training program, connecting classroom learning with meaningful employment and helping students take their first steps toward careers in education.
Our senior students are also working toward earning their Educational Aide I Certification upon graduation, giving them an additional credential as they enter the profession.
We are proud to see our future educators building skills, earning credentials, and launching their careers right here in Elgin TX Independent School District! The future of teaching is looking bright! 🧑🏫✨
