Gamma Phi Omega - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville

A Latina oriented but non-exclusive social sorority that promotes academic excellence, community service, cultural awareness, and sisterhood.

Open to all SIUE female students. The purpose of the Sorority shall be to promote the four goals:
Academic Excellence - to motivate and stimulate academic achievement. Community Service - to provide service to the surrounding communities. Cultural Awareness - to unite women in the pursuit of appreciating the diverse Latino and other cultures. Sisterhood - to provide support and respect among each member in order to maintain an everlasting relationship.

Mu Chapter wants to congratulate our MARVELOUS hermana Vanessa "Lú-Berry" Tirado on graduating with her masters degree in Social Work! She has this message to share with everyone:

Now that I have graduated with my Masters in Social Work. I can’t wait to continue grow my knowledge in my specialization. At the moment, I am still completing my internship at Chicago Public Schools and hope obtain my social work license this summer.
I have been able to accomplish all my dreams thanks to my amazing support system. I would have not been able to be here today without all the love and support of my friends and family.
Quick shout out to all the swans that took care me while I was pregnant. I will forever be thankful for your care and attentiveness.

Mu Chapter wants to congratulate our MARVELOUS hermana Mayra "My1ss" Ocampo on graduating with her bachelors degree in Civil Engineering! She has this message to share with everyone:

"My future plans after graduating is to find a job I love and continue to learn until I become a licensed professional engineer but still keep learning through out my career. I wouldn't have done this without the support of my parents, family, closest friends, and my advisors. They are the one's that got me through my toughest times and I never gave up.
