I finally finished up the oak cabinet restoration. It’s not nearly as flashy or elegant as an antique sewing table, but it’s just as valuable to my family. It belonged to my great-grandmother (possibly further back than that) and was housed in their farm house in NW MO for decades. It held linens and blankets most of its life, but it has had nothing due it’s decrepit state and structural instability.
If you are interested, I have created a video showing the restoration process…taking it all apart and putting it back together again to result in a stunning piece of furniture! See it come to life!

The Okie Craftsman Box Collection
These are some pieces (3 fly boxes and 1 knife box) I’ve made over the past few months.
Various woods used include walnut, maple, spalted pine, ambrosia maple, redwood, and cherry. I finish all my boxes with danish oil and finishing paste wax for protection.
Currently working on another fly box using walnut and cherry for a Christmas gift that will be engraved and oversized! Excited to share that one when I can.
Let me know what you think of them! Sometimes they float under my radar, but they are super fun to build and I love mixing and matching different wood combos.
