On April 16, the College of Liberal Arts opened the Senior Art Gallery and the newly renovated studio space! Art + Design seniors were recognized for their impressive work, followed by a reception and reveal of the updated studio in GC 135. We are so excited to use this space in the fall and are so proud of all of our graduating seniors!

For 500 years, no one noticed the music hidden inside this famous painting…until just a few years ago at OC! Music alumna Amelia Hamrick was the first to record the hidden song within Hieronymus Bosch’s famous painting “Garden of Earthly Delights.” She discovered the piece transposed on the rear-end of a man in the bottom-right. The song gained a lot of popularity online, inspiring others to take a deeper look at Bosch’s work. Read more and listen to her discovery at the link below.

Megan Chambers is an incredible Graphic Design major graduating from OC! She has made several impressive projects and been involved with Eagle PR, OC’s student-run public relations firm. On April 11, College of Liberal Arts students in the Interior Architecture Club visited the Marland Mansion in Ponca City to view local architecture and history. We are so grateful for these wonderful learning experiences our students get to encounter off campus! Our alumni continue to do amazing things! OC College of Liberal Arts alumna C.M. Gilbreth has just released a new fiction book titled “Songs of Deliverance: A Lover’s Fury.” Drawing inspiration from her studies in the Biblical end times, the book follows the story of misplaced individuals under an evil regime, awaiting the return of the Messiah. The final installation of the semester in OC Art Gallery opens 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 156! This annual exhibition celebrates all the incredible work our graduating seniors have done in their time at OC! Each banner displays projects that each senior is most proud of. On April 9, OC alumnus and retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Greg Kent shared the story of the real-life “Winter Soldier,” Mitsuo Fuchida. Welcomed by OC History Professor Matt McCook, Kent discussed how the Japanese Commander led the primary attack on Pearl Harbor and fought for the Axis Powers throughout World War II. After the war, however, he converted to Christianity and spread the Gospel throughout the world! Thank you, Lt. Col. Kent, for your service and insightful talk!

Can you outsmart the maze? “Master of the Maze,” the debut game from OC alumni-based independent studio Endeavorous Games, is now available on Steam! The studio was founded by School of Art + Design alumni Allen Rader and Michaela Hayen, along with Computer Science alumnus Ryan Gentzler and Electrical Engineering alumnus Daniel Maher. Combining action and adventure, “Master of the Maze” is filled with puzzles and problem-solving. Keep up the creative work! Learn more at the link below.

On March 23, OC’s Chorale and Chamber Singers traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for their annual choir tour. They performed at Stillwater Christian School, Stillwater High School, and Stillwater Church of Christ featuring 12 songs, concluding with “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.” We are proud to see our students using their talents to serve and inspire surrounding communities!
