Happy Freedom Day! Today is Juneteenth, a holiday celebrated on June 19 to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation
Proclamation. It took three years for the news to reach everyone!

Today is Flag Day! It is celebrated annually on June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the American flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1777. While it is not a federal holiday, it is widely observed nationwide through parades, patriotic displays, and presidential proclamations. Red represents valor and courage, white represents purity and blue represents justice. Thirteen stripes represent the 13 original colonies and 50 stars to represent each state. God bless our flag!

Families, summer work and supply lists will be posted on the school website on 6/30. These items were given to the students in school, but are posted on the website as a backup.

The school office is open during the summer break, but it will be operating on summer hours. If you are not sure if the school is open, call first.
