Alpha Lambda Delta at UTRGV Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) at UTRGV is a National Honor Society for First Year Students that promotes scholarship, community and citizenship.

Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) at UTRGV is a National Honor Society for First Year Students who wish to become active in campus life as well as conscientious members of society. The Society promotes scholarship and citizenship in the early years of college, reaching out to those who will become the leaders of tomorrow. Alpha Lambda Delta is not greek life, although it does promote service and community awareness.

General information

Founded in 1924, Alpha Lambda Delta is an honor society for students in their first year at an institution of higher education. We recognize those students who have succeeded in maintaining a 3.5 or higher GPA, and are in the top 20% of their class, in their first year. Alpha Lambda Delta's mission is to "encourage superior academic achievement... to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their unique roles in society."
