Words matter, especially when it comes to mental health. This May, Mental Health Month, and have teamed up to shed light on the things NOT to say to someone struggling with their mental health.
Mental health is an important aspect of our overall well-being that deserves more attention, understanding, and acceptance. It's not something we can simply "snap out of" or "get over," and it's certainly not a personal weakness or character flaw. Mental health struggles are very real and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or social status.
Sometimes, people may not understand the right words to say, but that's okay. It's all about learning and supporting one another. We want to create a safe and supportive space for those dealing with mental health challenges, starting with opening up the conversation and breaking down the stigma.
So, let's come together this Mental Health Month to support and uplift one another. Remember, your words matter. Let's choose them wisely and with empathy. 💛

It’s okay to take medication to feel better. Today, I spoke to my doctor about getting back on my medication because life stresses were making it hard to function again. It was important for me to recognize that this is not a step back but a step forward into putting my mental health first.
Speak to your physician or health professional if you think you would benefit from taking medication. Sometimes finding the right medication for you, is a journey on its own. Just like finding the right therapist. But do not give up, and keep trying.
It’s time to end the stigma on medication. 💊

Whether you've struggled with mental health issues yourself or if a family member, friend, or significant other of someone who has, we want to support you. Our hats are a subtle way to express your love and support for those who need it. Let's end the stigma on mental health together by creating a community where everyone can feel comfortable talking about mental health!
Donations to our organization will go directly back to funding our education and outreach projects, aimed at both increasing awareness of mental health, and providing psycho-educational resources to those who need them.
At Mental Monarchs, our mission is to bring the conversation about mental health and illness to communities that need it most. We focus on providing psycho-education for families and individuals impacted by mental illness and fund initiatives that help break down the stigma around mental illness.
