🚒🔥 Fire Safety Week at Edgewood Elementary! 🔥🚒

Last week was Fire Safety Week, and our Elementary Bulldogs had the opportunity to learn some very important lessons from some of our local heroes! ❤️

A HUGE thank you to the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department for spending time with our students and teaching them valuable fire prevention and safety tips. 🚒🧯

We are incredibly grateful for the men and women who not only work to keep our community safe, but also take the time to educate our youngest Bulldogs about what they can do to stay safe in an emergency.

"To kick off our science unit in kindergarten, we enjoyed our monthly directed drawing and story all about Jack-o’-lanterns! We talked about how pumpkins are real, while carving them into Jack-o’-lanterns is a fun Halloween tradition that some families choose to enjoy at home.

Students watched a step-by-step drawing video, practiced following directions, and created their very own Jack-o’-lantern pictures. To finish, they practiced their handwriting by writing a fun poem to go along with their drawings!"

💜💛 Happy National HR Day! 💛💜

Today, we are proud to recognize Mrs. Kristy Jones, Director of Human Resources & District PEIMS Data Coordinator! 🐾

If you know anything about HR and PEIMS, you know the deadlines never seem to stop, and Mrs. Jones somehow manages to keep them all moving! She wears many hats, juggles countless responsibilities, and plays an important role behind the scenes every single day.

This year, she was also one of the driving forces behind one of the most successful hiring seasons Edgewood ISD has had, helping us bring some incredible new people into our Bulldog family. 💜💛

We appreciate Mrs. Jones more than words can explain and are incredibly thankful for everything she does for our employees, students, and district.

Happy National HR Day to one of the BEST around!

🐾💜💛 WEEK AHEAD | OCTOBER 12–16 💛💜🐾

We’ve got another BUSY week in Bulldog Country! From volleyball and cross country to pep rallies, football, Senior Night, and School Lunch Week, there’s plenty happening across EISD!

🏐 Monday: Middle School Volleyball travels to Eustace.
🏐 Tuesday: High School Volleyball hosts Scurry-Rosser for SENIOR NIGHT and a district matchup! Plus, 1st & 3rd Grade Snack Day.
👟 Wednesday: High School Cross Country competes at Eustace, and it’s CCMR Wednesday! 2nd & 4th Grade Snack Day.
🏈 Thursday: Middle School Pep Rally, Middle School Football at HOME vs. Harmony, and JV Football at Harmony. Plus, K & 5th Grade Snack Day.
🤠 Friday: It’s Country vs. Country Club for our High School Pep Rally! Then Varsity Football takes on Harmony at HOME at 7:30 PM!

🍎🥪 And all week long, we’re celebrating National School Lunch Week! A huge thank you to our Child Nutrition team for keeping our Bulldogs fueled and ready to go!

📌 REMINDER: Report cards will be posted October 16.
