Most missed layups aren’t about touch or toughness.

A launching pad is the moment a player no longer needs another step or another dribble before leaving the floor. Great finishers recognize that window early. Most players don’t—and they end up rushing, drifting, or allowing the defense to recover.
Your launching pad isn’t fixed.
It changes based on contact, balance, and help defenders.
The goal stays the same:
As soon as you can safely and effectively leave the floor—jump.
Stop wasting steps.
Finish before the window closes.
