The first days of the new school year have been great. These elementary school students received donated Venture River Water Park day passes for excellent behavior and having positive attitudes. Keep it up kiddos!! Thanks to Deputy Frank Cates for selecting the deserving winners!!

Huge congratulations to LCMS 6th grader Cayson Murphy on winning the Purple Champion Award at the KY State Fair! Cayson represented Lyon County 4-H in the State Junior Division Recycled Category with her hand-sewn bag.

Pictured with Cayson is Lyon County 4-H Agent Mary Beth Riley. This marks Miss Mary Beth’s first State Fair Purple Champion ribbon since becoming agent, making this milestone extra special for both of them. Lyon County Schools is so proud of you! 💜👏

We are so proud of our Lyon County students who are representing their schools and community at the Kentucky State Fair 4-H Country Ham Contest!

These 4-H students have worked hard throughout the Country Ham Project, learning about agriculture, food preservation, public speaking, and the traditions behind Kentucky country ham. Today, they are putting their knowledge and preparation to the test as they present their speeches and compete at the state level.
