Whenever we bring our humanoid robot and robot dog to events, one of the first questions people ask is, “What are their names?” Right now, we do not have a good answer—because they do not have names yet. We would like to change that, and we need your help! Please share your creative, fun, or meaningful name suggestions for our newest robotic team members. Use this link to provide your suggestions: https://uweauclaire.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2tvEao5hsJyOlRc

You can add your suggestions until October 15th.

Our UWEC robot dog and humanoid robot can be seen in the background of the WEAU news story about the robotics competition at the Pablo Center. (15 sec - 24 s). It was a great opportunity to talk with high school students interested in robotics.

High school students from across Wisconsin and Minnesota gathered at the Pablo Center at the Confluence on Saturday to put their engineering skills to the test at the third annual Leviathan Robotics Rampage.

We had a great turnout for the Leviathans Robotics Rampage on Saturday at the Pablo Center. It was so busy, the only picture we have is right after the set up. The robot dog was a big hit!

Another great example of how assistive systems and robotics engineering can be used to improve the lives of individuals. This is one of example of many new companies and the work they do in the field of exoskeletons.

Since 2005, Ekso Bionics has been developing and manufacturing exoskeleton bionic devices that can be strapped on as wearable robots to enhance the strength,...

UWEC is launching the Assistive Systems and Robotics Engineering major this fall. The types and designs of robots that can help people perform tasks they otherwise would not be able to do is vast. One example is a quadruped robot (often referred to as a robot dog). This quadruped robot will be used for outreach programs and senior capstone projects.

It’s not unusual to see people walking their dogs across the UW-Eau Claire campus. What is unusual is one dog that is walked not with a leash, but with a re...

Of course, robotics is used in manufacturing, but the applications go way beyond that, and so do the careers.

Why settle for a robot when you can have a robot coyote? That seems to be the thinking of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), which is developing a cybernetic prairie predator to keep airfields clear of hazardous wildlife.
