Oakwood art students learned how to needle felt and create artful objects with wool. For the month of December, students donated their skills and time to create useful felted cat toys for the homeless kitties at Monmouth's SPCA in Tinton Falls. Using cookie cutters as a container for the wool, students created a base layer of felt, sprinkled catnip inside, and continued felting on top to create a treat for the cats. Some students were motivated to create 2 or 3 bonus toys for the cats waiting to be adopted. The photos serve as proof that the cats and kittens had a bright and cheerful holiday season.
