In the Shadow of Your Wings
Psa 17:1 A Prayer of David. Hear a just cause, O Jehovah; attend to my cry; give ear to my prayer spoken without deceit.
Psa 17:2 From before you may my judgment go forth; may your eyes see what is right.
Psa 17:3 You have examined my heart, you have inspected me by night; you have tested me, and you will find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.
Psa 17:4 As for the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept from the ways of the violent.
Psa 17:5 My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped.
Psa 17:6 I have called upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your earN1 to me; hear my words.
Psa 17:7 Show your wonderful loyal love, O Savior of those taking refuge at your right hand From those who rise up against them.
Psa 17:8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings,
Psa 17:9 from the wicked who attack me, my enemies against the soul who surround me.
Psa 17:10 They have closed their calloused hearts;N2 with their mouths they speak proudly.
Psa 17:11 They have now surrounded our steps;N3 they set their eyes to cast us to the ground.
Psa 17:12 He is like a lion eager to tear, as a young lion lurking in secret places.
Psa 17:13 Arise, O Jehovah, confront him to the face; deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword,
Psa 17:14 from men by your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their belly with treasure; they are satisfied with sons, and they leave their abundance to their infants.
Psa 17:15 As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when awakening to see your form.N4
