Join the Fishmobile tomorrow at the Hurlock Fall Festival! The bus will be open 10:30 am (after the parade) until 4:00 pm. This is a fabulous community event put on by the Town of Hurlock Welcome to Hurlock Maryland.

Weather Update: there will be no outside activities as part of this event due to the rain now in the forecast for tomorrow. The parade has been cancelled and many events have been moved inside where possible. Unfortunately, the Fishmobile cannot move inside and the high wind forecast means we cannot have a canopy over the entrance or exit to the bus so we've made the decision to cancel the Fishmobile program for tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Saturday, September 26th, the Fishmobile will be participating in the Frederick Douglass Day festivities here in Easton. The bus will be open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, across from the library and there will be lots of things to see and do all day long! From the parade at 10:00 am, to the Children's Village activities on the front lawn of the library starting at 11:30, to live music and speakers at the Talbot County Courthouse, to a 3 pm walking tour of the Hill neighborhood, there will something for everyone.

This Fishmobile program is made possible thanks to a grant from the Bryan Brothers Foundation, so many thanks to them!

We've been having a blast meeting 4th graders in Talbot County Public Schools! This is the first of several activities in our oyster based Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience. For this initial portion we bring live oysters and hands-on learning into the classroom. Students get to see oysters filtering Chesapeake Bay water and see first hand how oysters provide habitat for many other animals in the Chesapeake Bay.

The Fishmobile will be at the St. Michaels Farmers Market this Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 am. Be sure to stop by to say hi to our animal ambassadors like Clem!

This Fishmobile program is free and open to the public thanks to a grant from Christmas in St Michaels.

Over the last two weeks, oyster cages have been getting delivered to our volunteer oyster growers! These volunteers provide their docks to hang oyster cages with baby oysters (aka spat) so that they have a safe place to grow for the first 9 months or so of their lives. In the late spring, the cages are collected and the oysters are planted in the Harris Creek Oyster Sanctuary to help bolster the wild oyster population.

If you're interested in growing oysters with us, there's still time to sign up! Check out our website for more information or send us an email and get in touch.

The program is Tilghman Islanders Grow Oysters (it is available to folks in the Bay Hundred area, not just Tilghman) and is part of the state funded Marylanders Grow Oysters program, managed by our friends at the Oyster Recovery Partnership.

We're the community tent at the St. Michaels Farmers Market tomorrow!

We'll have information and sign up sheets to join our oyster restoration program and we'll have some live oysters on display to show off how they support a healthy Chesapeake Bay. Hope to see you there!

Yesterday, we brought the Fishmobile to the Talbot County Department of Parks and Recreation summer camp program. Students learned about oysters, met our turtles, crabs, and fish, and they learned about watersheds, pollution, and how trees and oysters serve as filters to help reduce the amount of pollution that ends up in the Chesapeake Bay.

This program was paid for by a grant from the Bryan Brothers Foundation so a big thank you to them for supporting programs like this!
