What a humbling experience at the NRL Hunter Dust Devil Duel a couple weeks ago. It was a great trip with friends and learned just how quickly skills can depreciate when not being reinforced through training. Between Tornados, Thunderstorms, and crazy wind it was a challenging match for sure. With being rusty with deploying my gear and making wind calls mistakes led to a horrible score. So what did I take from this and ask each of you to do the same - train train train. get the reps in, even if not live fire, just train. Practice using your gear and evolve your skills.

Just a quick message as we had a historical day yesterday. I am sure if you follow us here you are like minded and are very excited to see how our next chapter as a country plays out.

Couple things to share:

1. We need change in this country and that has been very clear for a long time. We encouraged that we place our votes in line with Faith, Family, Freedoms, Financial Stability, and a Future for our kids. We now have a better chance at achieving all that. Not because of (1) man, but because of the team that man has assembled to take a serious look at issues and solve them and not place band-aids on them. More than that our voices have been heard and we as a nation will hold that team accountable to deliver upon what was promised.

2. I am happy to see that (so far) there have been no riots and attacks. I don't want to create panic, nor do I wish issues to occur, but I would encourage everyone to be vigilant and aware of surroundings and people. We have many foreign entities that could use this transition period to their advantage and strike. We are also seeing many very upset and currently they are in a state of processing, we hope that they do not progress to the state of action in bad ways.

So stay safe out there. Be patient. Be tolerant.

Aside from fi****ms and training there are other ways to prepare yourself to care and provide for your family. As we look at the recent disasters in this country - Maui, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, and others it is clear that you cannot count on the government to help you. You will need to protect and provide for yourself and if so blessed rally as neighbors and local community to help those in need. I could write a very long post here, but I will list just a few things we have done to prepare. Aside from fi****ms and ammo, we have extra medications, water, various food options, first aid, layered clothing, extra fuel, backup power, go-bags with supplies in case we need to go, portable power, and even radios and satellite internet (Starlink). Yes some of this can get expensive, but if you slowly prepare the cost can be spread out and many of these items you may already have. Just understand that you may be without clean water, power, food sources, and more if you do not prep to have them. Be a survivor for your family and to help others in need.

How was opening weekend of Bow season for y'all here in Texas. After an early morning hunt and a busy day with family I was able to close out an evening hunt with success. Scored me a fair buck that will put food on the table for my family. It is not about getting a trophy, it is about the experience with those you share the moment with, the blessing the harvested animal bestows upon your family through the grace of God, and the comfort in knowing that no matter how crazy things may get you can provide a table for your loved ones. I am truly blessed to have this ability and opportunity. Still a lot of hunting time left in bow season and soon to be rifle season, so get out there and be safe.

Who's ready for Bow Hunting Season to start this weekend? Blinds are up. Gear is ready. Game has been tracked. Now to get up early Sat morning and pray for a safe, memorable, and successful hunt and season. Be safe and enjoy the moment my fellow hunters.

Went to a very interesting movie documentary last night. "TEXAS SCORECARD PRESENTS: RED POWER". The premise was about the ever growing threat of "renewable energy" and the investment by foreign interests in our having this "technology". Let's be real, renewable energy has it's place - I use solar panels on gate fences, battery tenders, camping needs, etc. That said, the cost to produce, damage to our earth (that they will never truthfully discuss, but look into wind farm graveyards and solar farms that have exceeded their lifespan or damaged in weather not repaired and left to rot), or the instability of these systems that then require backup systems, makes it a lose lose option for grand-scale application. The other threat is the foreign influence that produces these systems, with their embedded chips and systems that are easily hackable. The investment in foreign interests in buying up land that could be used for farming, but instead they choose to use this land (many times adjacent to military bases - hmmmm) for "tall" windmills that "could" also contain systems to spy or jeopardize our national security. I have had my concerns about this tech and its real impact to our earth and stable grid, as well as my concerns about foreign influence, but never really connected these (2) together.

So why am I posting about this. Yes we teach about fi****ms, tactics, defense, awareness - well, being aware of the greater issues that threaten us is part of that.

So, what do I ask of you? Do your own research, become educated on the very things that impact our costs, our daily needs, and our overall security. Get involved by talking with your family, friends, neighbors, then your local government, commissions, reps, senators, etc and share your thoughts and concerns. Cast concerns on subsidies that are not in our best interest, apply pressure for America first and national security - we could go on forever about that. The biggest thing that I ask is just as we teach people to pull their heads away from their phones and pay attention to their surroundings to stay safe, we ask that you also pull your heads out of the sand and pay attention to what is going on. We are well past the time of blind comfort, we must be aware, be involved, and make a change that stabilizes our Great state of Texas, our Great Nation, and our future generations.

This man right here is the reason we do what we do. Brandon Nielsen was my family. 12 years ago today he was killed in the line of duty honoring his oath and pledge to his community and family in Blue. We train to save lives. We do not train to create gunslingers, we train to avoid, protect, overcome, and survive from an attack / threat. We train civilians so they can protect their loved ones and we train our LEOs (at zero cost) so they can go home at the end of their shifts to their families, which Brandon did not get to do. We live our lives with a mission to make a positive impact on our community, just as Brandon did with his every breath.

Please today (and everyday) show thanks and respect for our LEOs. Show it to your community and your family. This world is crazy enough as it is and you can make a difference with an act of kindness and smile in it all.

We will forever hold you in our heart and mission Brandon. Please look over us and guide us through our righteous journey.

As we get closer to hunting season, what do you do to prep? Personally I do a gear audit, check laws where I will be hunting to see if anything has changed, increase my workouts to make sure my body is ready, and plan a few more range days to verify my gear and comfort with my gear is at its peak.
