💤Jacob thought he was sleeping alone until God opened heaven above him.
🪜“Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. - Genesis 28:12
🪨Jacob had this dream while on the run after tricking his father, Isaac, to steal Esau's blessing. Fleeing his brother's fury toward Haran, he stopped for the night with no shelter or bed, using a stone as a pillow to sleep.
🙌Years later, Jesus told Nathanael something incredible:
🪽“Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” - John 1:51
✝️Jacob’s nighttime vision pointed toward a greater reality ultimately revealed in Jesus.
💓You might currently find yourself in an unexpected or undesirable place. However, do not assume God is inactive just because His actions are difficult to understand.
👣When Jacob awoke, his challenging circumstances remained, his home was still far away, and his long journey lay ahead.
🔥But he woke up knowing that God was there.
📖“Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.” - Genesis 28:16
🙏Sometimes we don't recognize God's hand until we look back and realize He was there the entire time.
