Send this to someone you love to let them know they’re crushing it and it doesn’t go unnoticed! It’s not easy, but you’re out here doing it anyway. Keep going! 👏👏🏿👏🏽👏🏻

WOTW has somehow moved to Wednesday…. Which also starts with “W” so it’s meant to be. This week’s word is (drumroll please 🥁……)
Scripting! Here is an example of scripting from a personal scenario. Levi, a frequent member of The Neuro Bridge, has fixated on a movie called Frankenweenie. He has watched it so many times he can recite it. When Levi’s family’s dog passed away recently, instead of telling us directly he missed his dog, he used a script from the movie. He repeated the main character’s statement “I don’t want him in my heart, I want him here with me”. We knew that he was telling us he missed his family’s dog by utilizing the language he had available. Scripting is a common way children with autism express themselves when communicating verbally.
Please share other examples of scripting in the comments!!

Can you believe it? July has flown by and we are getting ready to welcome August!
✏️ Important dates to note:
🍎 Our next giver support group is on Wednesday August 19th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at La Veracruzana on union street, just a few steps down from our building. We will have a welcoming sign for any newcomers, and we hope to see a few new faces! Remember, free childcare for caregiver support group when you RSVP!
🍎 We are back to 3 time slots for our Saturday play groups. We have 10:00am-12:00pm , 12:00pm-2:00pm, and 2:00pm-4:00pm. This ensures we keep our staff to child ratios intentional and allows for more flexibility for caregivers who want to make plans during their Saturday free time!
🍎 On Friday August 21st and Saturday August 22nd, we will be closed for staff training. That means no play group on Saturday the 22nd.
🚀 Don’t forget we have a community outing TOMORROW, July 29th from 1:00pm-3:30pm at Amelia Park Children’s Museum. We hope to see you there!

Staff Spotlight! 🎤:
Last week we introduced our team member Landon, and this week we are introducing his sister Braelyn! Brae has been at TNB since the beginning and it shows. She is always chill and composed; nothing phases her even on our most chaotic days. We know with her skill and confidence she will make a wonderful teacher one day. Thanks, Braelyn, for all you do!
“Hi! My name is Braelyn and I have been working at Neuro Bridge since they opened in April of 2025. I love working with all the children and seeing them blossom in each play group. I’m currently attending college to become an elementary school teacher, so I enjoy this opportunity to aid in the children’s play, learning, communication, and more.” -BW

Hey, friends! It’s a wacky Wednesday today because the WOTW is meant to be shared on Monday…..Oops. This week’s word is: stimming. If you’ve ever twirled your hair, nervously bounced your knee, rocked back and forth, or even made certain vocal sounds when you’re nervous, you’ve done it! Everyone engages in stereotypy to some extent. Our autistic friends often engage it in more often or in more obvious ways. We bring this up because we want to normalize it! A child jumping up and down, flapping their hands, or squealing with joy is a happy child. We can also observe stimming behavior and recognize it as a precursor for dysregulation in some cases, allowing an opportunity to accommodate an individual before they become too dysregulated and unable to self soothe. In fact, many times when a person is stimming, they are attempting to naturally self soothe! Add in the comments your thoughts or experiences with normalizing stimming behaviors ⬇️
