Little Chicks Family Daycare is looking for a caring, responsible, and energetic person to join our team. We are looking for someone with experience working with children, who understands that this role is not just about caregiving, but also about supporting early learning and development.

Our program focuses on helping children grow through activities that support language, social-emotional, self-help, and motor skills.

Preschool is not for children to learn how to read and write.

Today there is a lot of pressure for children to learn letters, numbers, and colors at a very young age. Comparisons between children are becoming more common, and many parents feel worried when they see other kids doing certain things earlier.

But the real purpose of preschool is something different.

This is the stage where children learn to express their feelings, share, wait for their turn, explore, play, imagine, and develop curiosity about the world around them.

They are also strengthening their hands, coordination, and language… skills that later make reading and writing possible.

✨ When the foundations of development are strong, learning to read and write happens much more naturally.

Because in early childhood, play is also learning.

A winter storm and very cold temperatures are expected this weekend in Suffolk County. Please keep these important safety tips in mind:

✅ At Home
• Keep the heat on and seal drafts
• Let a small stream of water run overnight to prevent frozen pipes
• Have flashlights and fully charged phones

✅ Supplies
• Stock up on water, food, and medications
• Have essentials ready for babies and young children

✅ Travel
• Avoid driving during the storm
• If needed, drive with extreme caution

✅ For the Kids
• Dress warmly
• Limit outdoor time
• Enjoy calm indoor activities
