Today, I went plein air painting at the William Wolkoff Dahlia Garden at Bayard Cutting Arboretum on Long Island.
The garden was filled with dahlias in so many beautiful colors and shapes. I was surrounded by flowers everywhere I looked, but instead of trying to paint every detail, I focused on the colors, light, and feeling of the garden.
Painting outdoors is always a little challenging, but that is also what makes it exciting. Nature changes constantly, and I have to make decisions quickly and trust my first impression.
Another beautiful day of plein air painting on Long Island. 🌿🌸
