Congratulations to MSU Honors College, College of Arts & Letters, and College of Social Science student Kaylin Casper on becoming a Rhodes Scholarship finalist.

Out of nearly 2,800 students who started the application process, she was part of less than 9% who received a national finalist designation. Ultimately, 1% earned the award.

Since coming to MSU from Burbank, California, Casper has been a Truman Scholarship finalist, part of Homecoming Court, the university’s 14th Udall Scholar, a board member for NAISO MSU, and much more.

"I am deeply honored to have been selected as a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship,” Casper said. "This recognition reflects the support and mentorship I’ve received from my professors, friends, and communities at Michigan State University and beyond."

"Chi Miigwech to my mom, Aunt Bunny, and Grammy, who teach me every day what it means to carry the strength and wisdom of Native women forward."
