Old school.

First I want to say. I'm not giving advice on anything in this post. It's just simply what I've learned and how I do things.

In this day and age there is a lot of new things about dogs. Lots of new ways of training lots of new ways taking care of your dog. Feeding your dogs on and on and on. I've studied on most all of it to an extent. What I have learned is. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's better. For instance. The first litter of puppies I ever had. I wanted to know what was the best thing to feed these puppies. I went to an old mill to get some dog food or puppy food. There was an old man who worked there. He asked me if he could help me and I told him what I was looking for. And he showed me where the puppy food was. I just got to talking to him about it and told him it was my first liter of pups. They were GSDs and just wanted to make sure that they were going to be healthy. Then he asked me if I wanted some advice. I said of course. He said here. Try this. He said mix it with their puppy food. And he told me how to mix it. He said don't mix it like it says on the label do it like I'm telling you to do it. So I did. And the puppies turned out to be very healthy dogs. I have stuck with that with every litter of puppies I've ever had. After about my fourth litter of puppies. My vet told me that she didn't know what I was doing but whatever it was worked. She said the puppies that I bring in there are some of the most healthy puppies that ever come through their veterinary clinic. Now is this what Google says to do? No. Is this what the dog food industry says to do? No. Is this what most vents will tell you to do? No. Do any new studies tell you to do this? No. So strongly taking in all the new information. All the new studies. And advice. I still stick to the old school way I was taught. Why? Because it absolutely works.

So. When it comes to taking care of puppies or dogs. When it comes to feeding. Health issues. Training. Or behavioral work. New is not always better. Sometimes you just cannot beat the old school way. And because of that old man. I have also studied a lot of old school dog training. When I mean old school I mean old old school. As far back as the 1800 stuff. Now again. I'm not giving advice or trying to tell anybody what to do or not to do. Not giving any medical advice. Not telling you not to take your dog to the vet. And I'm not trying to give training advice or behavioral advice. Lots and lots of old school ways in anything is better than new ways today. But. Lots and lots of new ways and new discoveries are better than old school. So again. For me. I study old school and new school. And I determined for myself which is best. My point to this post is. Don't get suckered into the new dog industry. Money making. Misleading stuff that you will find on the internet. I see it time after time after time The money people have spent on stuff for their dogs that don't work. But because Google says it does and the dog industry says it does. They spend the money. So be careful. Do your research. Ask questions.

At 4 1/2 weeks old these GSD pups are going to be big dogs. πŸ˜ƒ And long haired.

This young lady is a great pyrenees. This breed is great at learning new commands and following through. Until they decide they don't want to. 🀣🀣🀣 Very beautiful but notorious for being very headstrong and very independent. πŸ˜ƒ

This is a very sweet labradoodle but was notorious for pulling his owner when she tried to walk him. To the point where she could not walk him. Now he's listening to her commands and is very well behaved in the store. She said she never thought she would ever be able to take him into a store. But he's surprised her. πŸ˜ƒ

Took one of my dogs. Blaze. To meet Bella. A dog that I've been working with. They done really good together. She will learn a lot from him. Understand that he is probably one of the most intimidating looking dogs that a dog will see or meet. He's very tall. Long erect ears. And solid black. Which makes it harder for other dogs to read his body language and facial expressions so to speak. Much harder to pick up on calming signals. Bella lives with a few other dogs. But they are much smaller than her. She was not used to being around a dog that was a lot bigger than her. But she done great. Very proud of her. πŸ˜ƒ
