This homemade device that I made in order to show exactly how I do my stitches on each individual projects since they change to accommodate the project.

I used a wire hanger as I’ve seen in other Instagram and TikTok videos. It’s actually pretty useful.

It all depends on what you have already done and what your sewing goals are.

If you have good experience assembling clothes that fit well and you wear well from premade kits then you can consider yourself ready to take the next step and start learning how to draft your own pattern pieces and sew your own clothes.

If you have not already picked out a premade kit and gone through the process of picking out your fabric and assembling your clothes, this is exactly where you should start.

If you are not sure either way, comment DRAFT and I will tell you everything I know and answer all of your questions so that you know exactly what your next steps are.

Can you relate?

One of the easiest way to drive yourself crazy when you’re in the middle of a project is constantly picking up and putting down your sewing scissors.

When you’re picking them up and putting them down so often and you’re not putting them down the same place, they go missing even though they’re in the room with you somewhere. 🤦‍♀️😂

This is a really nice easy way to add elastic to your clothes to make stretchy and fitted edges without making things too complicated. This works for any fabric type. Use a thinner, narrow elastic for the best results.

One of my favorite things to do to make brand new clothes, just to simply revamp the older ones that I was planning to get rid of anyway. I love how this one turned out with the bigger neck line, shorter length and flutter sleeves. All extremely simple things to do with a shirt that is slightly bigger than you.

This technique saves so much time and energy and eliminate that hole between the two fabric panels that will happen when you stitch using the other method.

Practice this as much as you can and then start using it in your own projects and save yourself some time!
