We average 22 students per classroom for a total enrollment of over 400 students. The vision for our elementary school is, "Every child, every day, making a difference the Eagle Way." As part of this vision, we attempt to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students. Each child receives core instruction; however, this may look different according to the student's cognitive developme
ntal readiness. Grade level teams work together to analyze data to determine what will be most effective for each student. Closely tied to our vision is explicitly teaching what Carol Dweck has termed "Growth mindset." Students are taught to seek out challenges rather than fear them. Mistakes are used as opportunities for improvement. Failure is only defined when we stop working to improve. We have been recognized as a Banner PBIS school. This award is given to schools with exemplary behavior data based on common expectations. Our three school-wide expectations are:
1 - Be Safe
2 - Be Respectful
3 - Be Responsible
All students are taught what these expectations mean in different parts of the building (bathroom, hallway, classroom, lunchroom, playground, ect. . .)
