On behalf of Durham Elementary School (DES) and the Durham Gala Committee, I am excited to announce that plans for the 5th Annual Durham Gala are underway! This dinner, dance and auction fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Butte Creek Country Club in Chico, California. The event is not only a fantastic time for attendees, but our goal to enhance students’ educational experiences via integrated literacy and state-of-the-art technology will be realized.
We are proud to have met our five-year vision that included providing all 3rd-5th grade students with Chromebooks and annually renewing the educational software licenses to enrich student learning. Having met that goal, our continued fundraising efforts has afforded us the opportunity to provide all 2nd grade students a Chromebook as well. Additionally, we have updated classroom interactive Smart Boards, replaced out-of-date Chromebooks, and provided teachers opportunities to attend technology conferences to equip teachers with skills that integrate technology within the curriculum.
As we continue to address the ever-changing educational needs via technology and exploring literacy enriched materials, our need for funding is as important as ever. Our district’s demographics are such that we do not qualify for many of the state and federal grants afforded to other districts. The intent of the Gala is to supplement our resources to enhance our children’s learning. Our 2020 fundraising goal is to raise $50,000 to enhance our students’ educational experiences via integrated literacy and state-of-the-art technology.
DES would greatly appreciate any donations for our auction you are able to provide such as a gift basket or gift certificate from your business. Additionally, we have sponsorships available at the Presenting ($3500), Titanium ($1000), Platinum ($750), Gold ($500) and Silver ($250) levels. All sponsorships will be noted on signs and programs and will include other valuable benefits outlined on the forms. Follow the link to download a copy.
