Summit attendees will form a peer-to-peer network with other like-minded young people and learn from community leaders and professionals. Self-esteem enhancement, goal setting and academic success, entrepreneurship, health and wellness, the importance of HBCUs and how to support them, financial literacy, social and personal responsibility, civic engagement, family unity, Black history, and conflict resolution are among the topics covered in panels and workshops.

The National Black Youth Summit is an opportunity for emerging young leaders, GRADES 6th-12th, to understand the importance of civic engagement, higher education and leadership with their communities. Ive is a current college student at the prestigious Princeton University who is creating her own lane to create access to STEM careers for young girls of color. This year Ive is hosting the third annual Young Women in STEM Conference on June 11-12, 2021. The conference was created to connect large STEM companies with ambitious and driven young girls. Ive plans to bring her conference efforts across the globe while also lending professional advice for girls of color.

Leaders in Medicine are Blocking Future Black Doctors My story happened 20 years ago, but it’s still happening today

Nnennaya Udochu () is of Nigerian origin. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University and a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas, Arlington. Currently, she works at Intel as a Systems Engineer leading platform designs for 2020 Microprocessor Projects and technical documentation of Platform Design Guides. Her expertise is focused on power delivery and new technologies for her team in the US for battery life optimization and responsiveness on system designs. She is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and National Society of Black Engineers where she has helped with the recruiting of young great minds for STEM initiatives. Recently she was awarded the Black Engineer of the Year Award 2020 for the Dr. Lydia W. Thomas Legacy Award for Innovation in the Public Interest. Aside from being an engineer, Nnennaya is a fashion blogger and started a platform inspiring women to be nothing less than who they are for the love of fashion and technology, specifically as a female Engineer and a woman of color in the tech industry. She acts as an advocate for STEM and mentor to young women.
