Duke Black Alumni is excited to announce that our DC chapter will be giving incoming students a warm welcome to the Black Duke family at the Summer Celebration and Welcome to Duke!

This will be a gathering among Black Duke’s incoming and current students, alumni, as well as friends and family for an afternoon of community, connection, and celebration. Details below:

Our BSA Publicity Chair graduated with a major in Psychology with Distinction, an Education minor and her Documentary Studies Certificate.

At Duke, Jasmin served as Assistant Publicity Chair and then Publicity Chair for BSA. She also served as the House Director of The Mitchell-White House LLC, Chief Marketing Officer for CS Sidekicks, an Orientation Leader for Project Global, a Duke Reunion Ambassador, and a member of the United in Praise Gospel Choir. She conducted research through the Duke L.I.F.T. Lab and the University Assisted Community Schools Bass Connection team. She also participated in DukeEngage with Raising a Reader MA, and student taught in Durham Public Schools. Her awards include the Samuel DuBois Cook Award, the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, and the William J. Griffith University Service Award.

Jasmin is currently in Duke’s Elementary Teacher Preparation Program and Duke TeachHouse, a Duke-affiliated teacher residency program in Durham.
