Welcome back to our series highlighting Women of the Bible!

Today we are learning about: HAGAR
The Woman Who Was Seen, Heard, and Known by God.

Hagar’s story reminds us of a beautiful truth: God sees, hears, and knows us.

She was an Egyptian woman who was enslaved. A person with little power and few choices. Someone many would have overlooked.

Yet God met her in the wilderness.

She became the first person in Scripture to call God El Roi — “The God Who Sees Me.” Her son’s name, Ishmael, means “God Hears.”

In moments of suffering, uncertainty, and isolation, God saw Hagar’s tears, heard her cries, and remained faithful to His promises.

No matter your circumstances, your past, or how unseen you may feel, the God who met Hagar in the wilderness still sees, hears, and knows His people today.

Today volunteers from several ministries of The Summit BCC came together to be celebrated with brunch and raffle prizes. 🎟️ 🥓 🍊

This photo is but a glimpse of the volunteer force behind the Women’s Discipleship team. Bible study facilitators, event coordinators, Equip Leaders, setup team, clean up team, social media team, the list goes on.

Ministry is made possible largely through the hands and feet of volunteers who put their YES on the table. They offer up their time and talent for the Kingdom of God to be made known, here in RDU and around the world.

🍎🎁 Help Us Bless the Teachers of Bethesda Elementary! 🎁🍎

As the school year comes to a close, we have an opportunity to show appreciation to the incredible teachers and staff at Bethesda Elementary School. (Bethesda is a community school located just one mile from the Summit Brier Creek campus!)

Next week we’re sponsoring their End-of-Year Luncheon. While the volunteer needs have been met, there is still a need for ***gift card donations*** to be used as door prizes during the celebration!

✨ A small gift can be a meaningful reminder that their hard work, dedication, and care for students have not gone unnoticed.

We’re looking for a childcare coordinator for Friday mornings this fall 2026 for 8-10 weeks!

As coordinator, you would help to schedule vetted volunteers and paid childcare workers to fill the needed spots for each week. You could still participate in study, but you’d need to be able to arrive by 9:30a each week to make sure the rooms have appropriate ratios.

Though he was equal with God he didn’t consider equality something to grasp — but in humility he emptied himself for God’s glory.

The word kenoo (Greek) means “to empty” and is found in this passage in Philippians describing Jesus humbling himself by taking a human form.

The Summit Church exists to create a movement of disciple-making disciples here in RDU and around the world.

The BCC Women live out that mission through three simple but powerful rhythms: Connect. Grow. Serve.

✨ Connect. As disciples, we are called to grow as family members. God created us for community, friendship, encouragement, accountability, and support. Some of the sweetest growth in our spiritual lives happens when we do life alongside other women who point us back to Christ.

That’s why we intentionally create spaces to connect. We offer regular Coffee & Connections gatherings, The Village playdates, and even hiking groups! Daily conversations and advice is shared in our GroupMe community. Whether you’re new to the area, new to church, or just looking for deeper friendships, there’s room for you here.

✨ Grow. As disciples, we first and foremost aim to grow as worshipers. A worshiper seeks to know, love, and obey God above all else. We cultivate a relationship with God in Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, with our church family. We want women to know God deeply, study Scripture faithfully, and become equipped to disciple others.

We offer spring and fall Bible studies, Equip Groups to dive into the Word. Summer podcast clubs facilitate topical discussions, and an annual Teaching Track equips you to teach God’s word to others.

✨ Serve. Serving is at the heart of the Christian life because serving was at the heart of Jesus. He saw people, loved people, and met needs with compassion and humility. We want to cultivate that same servant-hearted spirit in the women of our church.

There are so many ways to step in and serve. Love on children by volunteering Sunday mornings or partnering with our local elementary school. Help host events, lead Bible studies, or provide admin support. Use your unique God-given gifts to bless others. Whether you feel called to lead or simply lend a helping hand, there is a place for you here.

No matter your age, season of life, or where you are in your faith journey, there is a place for you here.
