This past summer, INSPIRE welcomed 22 rising 11th and 12th grade students from across North Carolina to the NCSSM-Morganton campus. During the free, week-long residential program, students had the opportunity to work on inquiry and/or research experiences facilitated by mentors, as well as to participate in team-building activities. A special thank you to our mentors at Burke County Emergency Communications, Catawba Valley Medical Center, Epic Games, and NIIMBL Biologic. Also, a huge thank you to Epic Games for their generous financial support.

Communicating Your Research to Non-Experts
March 19, 2025, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Sponsored by the NC Collaborative for Advancing Student Led Research, this webinar is an opportunity for participants to benefit from the passion and expertise of Dr. Jory Weintraub, an expert in Science Communication. Students involved in STEM presentations and competitions will find this an excellent opportunity to refine their skills and shape their message. Teachers will deepen their understanding of the components of effective communication which can be integrated into their STEM courses to develop these real life college and career skills for their learners.

Happy Holidays from INSPIRE!

This past summer, INSPIRE welcomed 23 rising 11th grade students from across North Carolina to the NCSSM-Morganton campus. During the week-long residential program, students participated in an inquiry or research experience facilitated by mentors, enjoyed enrichment activities, and presented their research results! Thank you to our mentors at Burke County Emergency Communication, Epic Games, NIIMBL Biologic, and UNC Health Blue Ridge! Also a big thank you to Epic Games and Trane Technologies for their generous financial support to make INSPIRE possible for our students! Be on the lookout - the application portal for INSPIRE Summer 2025 will open in January 2025!
