Help keep our canine relatives warm this winter. ❤️

Keeping Rez Dogs Warm This Winter ❄️🐾

Did you know straw bales have an insulating value of R2 to R3 per inch? That means even the smallest bale can give a wall an R value of up to 48. These bales are powerful natural insulators that trap heat, block wind, and help our rez dog friends stay warm through Manitoba’s unforgiving winters.

Thanks to your generosity, we already raised enough to send 100 straw bales into Pukatawagan. Community volunteers worked late into the night unloading them from the train to make sure dogs have warmth before the deep cold sets in.

We are still fundraising to help more northern communities protect their animals this winter.

If you can help make a donation, e-transfers and PayPal donations can be sent to [email protected] with “straw” in the message.

Big thanks to all who donated even $5…it really makes a difference and we are able to help many more this way. 💖💖

FOOD INSECURITY HURTS EVERYONE, INCLUDING OUR DOGS AND CATS!!

When pet food runs low in Manitoba, it’s not just families and rescues that struggle. The stray dogs and cats suffer too. Many go days without proper food, scavenging in the cold, hungry and weak.

I’ve been working hard to source more dog and cat food for the people and pets we love, but funding is running out fast.

We need $4000 urgently to get another full truckload of food to Winnipeg before winter hits. That’s thousands of meals for northern families, rescues and the roaming animals who depend on them.

E-transfers & PayPal: [email protected] with “pet food” in the message.

What did YOU do this summer? I moved my family to Winnipeg! Our dogs have settled in to their new Canadian home, and the humans are working on it!

I grew up in Treat 1 Territory, but my education led me to the US where I completed my PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience and then I stayed in the US (don’t worry, I was there legally) because I met my wonderful partner in graduate school.

The move was really stressful, but I’m so happy to be back home, near my family, and I look forward to helping people and their dogs in Winnipeg!

If you’re outside of Winnipeg, I have virtual coaching available! North Carolina peeps: I hope to see you virtually and don’t forget to tell your dogs I say ‘hi’!

This totally rad group of teenagers graduated from Teen Spirit class today! I’m so proud of the commitment these folks have made to setting their teens up for success as they grow into adulthood. Well done! 🌟
