The next Southeastern Oklahoma State University Study Abroad Adventure is official:
In May of 2027, we'll be travelling to Peru to explore its natural and human heritages. The program starts in the capital of Lima to get its bearings and visit some world class museums. From there, we trek into the Amazon, for some guided natural exploration, including canoe trips, guided flora and fauna tours, and cultural exploration guided by local communities. After the jungle leg, the adventure pivots to explore sites connected to the Incan civilizations--including Machu Picchu, Cusco, Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay.
Like all Study Abroad Adventures, this trip is open to Southeastern Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Students and Community Members.

Shukmulli, Bolt's Cousin from over near Tish', has been adventuring with Honors Program and Gaster Scholar Paige Moody to Ireland over the weekend.
Sometimes, the adventures are about seeing great and marvelous works of art or soaking in the culture in a warm bowl in a cozy restaurant. Sometimes, though, stones with shaped and standing can be the great reminder of how small the world is, especially from the eyes of a small Bison!

This Fall, Shukmulli (Bolt's Little Cousin from over near Tish') is travelling with Honors Program student, Paige Moody, in Madrid, but they went this weekend to Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland.
They report that the National Museum was wonderful, but the snow started to fall on Dublin, so they needed to warm up with a coffee!
..and you thought it was chilly in Durant!

To all the folks wishing for the May 2026 Study Abroad Adventure to include more countries, more excursions, and more fun!
We heard a lot of feedback from folks wanting more than a Spanish itinerary, and worrying about the cost, so the Office of Study Abroad has worked with EF to produce an alternative itinerary. While we may not be taking our original Spain trip, we're set for an amazing new adventure, which includes some big upgrades compared to our previous plan but at a more completive price!
The updated itinerary now includes Barcelona, Southern France & Italy, with a bonus visit to Monaco! Plus:
-Partnerships with additional institutions
-Visits to two additional countries (plus an excursion to Monaco, which technically counts as a third!)
-A major decrease in overall program price of $930
The Director is especially excited about visiting Monaco, home of the famous Gran Prix de Monaco!
The Office of Study Abroad is confident that this new adventure will be even more impactful, and hopes to see you along for the ride with us!
