Alert from Amtrak Cascades - Please be aware of the following and exercise caution.

There will be train activity and signal testing beginning on January 16 and continuing on all weekends throughout the month of January. High-speed trains will be tested on all tracks parallel to I-5 between South Tacoma, Lakewood, JBLM, and DuPont. Trains may come from either direction, day or night, travel at speeds up to 79 mph, and move quietly.

Free Summer Meal Program Update!

Our current meal distribution program will continue through June 30, with all 8 sites continuing to distribute meals (all 6 SHSD schools, Chief Leschi Park in DuPont, and the intersection of 108th Ave SW and 109th St SW in Steilacoom).

SHSD does not normally qualify for a summer meals program, but we were able to receive a waiver for this summer, and will continue serving free meals (lunch and breakfast for following day) from July 1 through August 13 at the following sites:
Cherrydale Primary School - Steilacoom
Pioneer Middle School - DuPont
Chief Leschi Park - DuPont

Grab 'n go meals will be served from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday through Thursday (Friday meals will also be served on Thursday).

All children age 0-18 are eligible to receive the free meals.
