The county had 18 of the 21 teams that participated in the inaugural season in 1993. The other three entries were Marist, Berkmar, and Meadowcreek. Dunwoody established itself as the powerhouse over the first four years of state competition by compiling a record of 101-15 under co-coaches Lynn Maddox and Cheryl Finke. The Lady Wildcats won at least 17 games every year from 1993-98 while finishing first or second over the first four (1993-96). Dunwoody lost in the inaugural state title series after winning the first of a three-game set against Meadowcreek, losing the final game 2-1. The Lady Wildcats bounced back for a 26-3 record and a four-game sweep in the state tournament in 1994 to claim the county’s first of two state titles, both owned by Dunwoody. Dunwoody won the Region 6AAAAA title in 2012 and 2015. Dunwoody moved to Region 7AAAAAA in fall 2016. In 2022, Dunwoody joins Region 4AAAAAA with Lakeside, Marist, North Atlanta, Riverwood, South Cobb, and St. The team finished the 2022 season in the Sweet 16 and third in the Region. The Dunwoody Wildcats are coached by Nikki Mastin, Allie Puckett, Mike Puckett, Mike Berry, and Dan Buis.

Molly is dropping the schedule for us this week.

After lots of softball since the first day of school, this week is definitely more chill than most.

The Varsity team kicks things off tomorrow at Wildcat Mountain, hosting region opponent, the Meadowcreek Mustangs.

JV hosts at home on Tuesday with a matchup against Cambridge, with Varsity capping the week off with an in-region game at Decatur's home field @ Oakhurst Park.

Big day for both Wildcats teams!

The JV team took care of business on the road, besting the Mustangs of Mount Vernon 9-2.

Back at home, the Varsity Cats chalked up another region win over the Heritage Patriots by a score of 10-3 through 7.

Senior, Izzy Iconis, added another 2 HR game on the season, with a 3 run shot in the 4th and a solo shot to start the 6th.

Shout out to Lazy Dog for providing yet another pregame meal for both of our teams. If you haven’t tried their chicken salad sandwich, do it soon. 🙌🏼
