Happy Founders Day to THE Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University!

Founded October 3, 1887, FAMU has spent 139 years producing leaders, innovators, history-makers, culture-shapers, and Rattlers who refuse to simply enter rooms—we transform them.

FAMU is more than the Highest of Seven Hills. It is legacy. It is excellence. It is resilience. It is family. It is the place that taught generations of us to Strike, Strike, and Strike Again - and to always leave the door open for the Rattlers coming behind us.

So today, we BRAGG a little louder. We wear the Orange and Green a little prouder. And we celebrate 139 years of FAMU EXCELLENCE!

Happy Founders Day, Rattlers!

Get your tickets 🎫 at the link 🔗 in FAMU Northeast Region Alumni ‘s bio. The HBCU Spades Tournament is about something much bigger than the cards.

We’re hosting this tournament because we believe our impact should extend beyond our alumni network and directly into the community we serve.

This year, we’re supporting students at four Prince William County schools by helping provide the school supplies they need to start the year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

And you don’t have to play Spades to make an impact. 🙌🏾

🎒 Want to help us fill backpacks and classrooms?

We’ve created an Amazon Store link in our bio with requested supplies for all four schools. Pick an item. Make a purchase. Help a student.

Every notebook matters.
Every pencil matters.
Every backpack matters.
Every student matters.

So when we say we’re playing cards and changing lives, we mean it.

NER Rattlers,

As we observe Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have secured the freedoms we enjoy today and continue to inspire generations of Americans.

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer it is a solemn reminder of the cost of liberty and the enduring strength of those who serve and their families who stand beside them. We are forever grateful for the sacrifices made by our fallen heroes and we honor their legacy with respect and gratitude.

Let us take a moment to reflect on the values of service, commitment, and unity that these heroes embodied. May we continue to uplift our communities and lead with purpose in their memory.

On behalf of the NER leadership, we wish you and your families a safe, meaningful, and reflective Memorial Day.

With gratitude and respect, keep striking! - Sharon Duncan, NER RVP
